More than 40 companies attended the 1st Italian Workshop on Industrial Symbiosis, organized by Centrocot and UNIVA with the support of the Belgian partner I-CTV.
The meeting took place in two moments.
A first in plenary with all participants gave an opportunity to illustrate the key aspects of the Life M3P project, the Circular Economy and Industrial Symbiosis, as well as presenting success stories. In particular, the Belgian Symbiose Platform presented the economic and environmental results achieved in 5 years of industrial symbiosis projects carried out in Flanders and A. Molina & C. Spa, which has described its activities for the circular economy.
Subsequently, all the participants, divided into tables of 10 people, participated in a match-making process with an innovative methodology proposed by the I-CTV project partner.
The activity allowed companies, in about three hours overall, to confront 70 industrial waste products and 26 requests for recycled materials or treatment technologies, assuming about 80 “matches”, that means opportunities for exchanges of materials.
